The GUSC Power project Involved the installation of a 40,000 lb/hr high pressure biomass steam boiler and a 900 kW backpressure steam turbine generator to supply power and steam to the 3,500-acre Griffiss Business and Technology Park at Rome, New York.
The project had to minimize any impacts on the surrounding community. With this in mind, provisions were made to minimize traffic issues and reflect the existing architecture of the site, while enhancing landscaping and appearance. A tight schedule that only allowed for construction during the summer months put restraints on the project, however, the design-build nature allowed for on time completion.
