As part of a design-build team, SRA team worked to add a Combined Heat and Power Facility for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY. The system converts natural gas into electricity and uses the heat created from the conversion as a heat source for the building. The project will decrease SJH’s energy bills by approximately 33%. SRA was tasked with designing the building envelope and life safety needs. In using a team BIM approach, all services were coordinated in a 3D model to maximize the available space. The 3,200 SF expansion over the loading dock was completed in the Fall of 2014.
